“In ten sessions you’ll feel the difference, in twenty you’ll see the difference,
and in thirty you will have a new body” – Joseph Pilates
Pilates is a form of exercise which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on development of deep core control.
The technique focuses on strengthening and training the deeper muscles in the body, which in turn assists the functionality of the
body as a whole, and promotes overall well-being.
Designed by the original master himself, Joseph Pilates, it has 8 key principles that it stays true to: Breathing, Concentration, Centering,
Alignment, Stamina, Fluidity, Co-ordination, and Relaxation. And while the technique is constantly evolving, and is trained in many
different styles, the foundations of Pilates are what makes the technique so uniquely beneficial across all age groups and fitness levels.
At UP, our pilates instructors are internationally accredited, and are trained in Matwork, Small Equipment, Large Equipment (including
the Reformer, Cadillac, Spine Corrector, Wunda Chair, all Barrels, and the Ped-A-Pull), Pre and Post-Natal, Sport Specific Pilates,
and Rehabilitative Training.
